Meet the owners
We’re Peter and Hilary and we acquired this holiday home for our family to enjoy particularly our special children Tom and Alice. Alice has Cystic Fibrosis and Tom has Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. In the past, finding private, safe and accessible accommodation, particularly to meet Tom’s needs, had always been a challenge… it’s now perfect!
The Villa
The villa was originally built by a lovely Spanish man whose son has cerebral palsy. It was specifically designed to cater for a wheelchair user with wider doors, wet-rooms and a ramped pool so it also met the needs of our family and friends with accessibility needs.
The villa sleeps 6 and is conveniently situated just 15 minutes from the airport in the quiet residential area of Cala Llonga and although the surrounding landscape is hilly, the villa’s ground floor and outside space is completely flat with no awkward steps or thresholds to negotiate. A car or use of an adapted taxi is essential.
It has 2 ground-floor double-sized bedrooms (one leading directly to the pool and terrace), 2 downstairs wet-rooms, and an upstairs double with en-suite bedroom. The ground floor and outside spaces are completely level, and there is also a large 9.0m x 4.5m swimming pool with a full-length ramp and handrail ensuring easy, safe and dignified access into the water.
A spacious open-planned living/dining area, a separate modern kitchen and utility room.
Great same-level outdoor patio space with covered dining.
Menorca is unique. Its only about 2 hours from the UK. Its small, unspoilt and very safe for families. During the summer months there is local hotel that has a great little bar and restaurant Your place in Mahon | Calallonga Hotel Menorca, Official Website. , but being only 10 minutes by car from Mahon, the villa is ideally situated to visit the fabulous selection of restaurants, shops and hypermarkets the Capital has to offer, particularly those along the Port. We are also never far to explore this wonderful island and visit those beaches that now provide wheelchair access.
Again there are so many local attractions, and information is available on here and in the villa.
The best part about welcoming guests is the feedback we receive and many of those are on here. We do not rent out but we do make it available to friends and families that have a less able member in their party. With the benefit of NO steps, wide doorways, wet-rooms and easy, dignified access into the pool it just make the holiday experience so much more enjoyable.

Son Bou beach on the southern coastline now has a disabled entrance near the first lifeguard station next to Ses Graces with crutches, mats, a special chair to go down to the water. There are also great beach bars that have wheelchair access, but best to check the toileting facilities first.
Further along the coast at Cala Galdana, mats have also been fitted to the water’s edge. (See Video)
